Music is not required, although it adds a light and fun quality to the workout. If you want to use music, we can suggest appropriate music choices.

Q: Do I have to have a Barre?
It is highly recommended to have a Barre. After all, it is called a Barre program! However, you can use chairs or choose exercises that do not require the Barre, and still create a dynamic and exciting program for your clients.

Q: What do I wear to class? What footwear is required?
Be prepared to move and to have fun. Since there is a significant amount of time spent standing, often on hardwood floors, we leave the footwear to your discretion. Barre can be done barefoot, with toe socks, in shoes with minimal support, or in cross trainers.

Q: What is the ‘materials fee’?
A materials fee is an Instructor Training Manual (ITM) and an Instructor Training Video (ITV) which consists of a DVD and web access to the DVD content via streaming video. Most courses require an ITM and in some locations and ITV. Many manuals are available in multiple languages but ITV’s are currently only available in English.
